Hit the road, Jack!

Yes, hit the road!
Bruxelles is nice. So is Denderleeuw [Denderli]. The name derives from the local rivers name (Dender) and the word lion (leeuw, I guess)...so it basically means the lion by the river Dender...whatever. As if that is important-.-.
The locals say that the french fries is an Belgian invention- they fry it twice! That's healthy, ha?! And you can buy it everywhere. But the portion sizes change exponentially with the distance from the centre. (There's a lack of imagination these days so I wont describe the portions, just post the pictures;)

That's actually the medium portion=A plate of french fries!(up!)
They(the Belgians) are also known fot the wafels and the chocolate, of course:)
So it was nice...and cold...about -3°C on average, but never mind. We were so buisy counting the H&M stores on Rue Neuve that we didn't notice how cold it was. At least not till 6 pm:)
Argh, I'm shitting myself! I was freezing! And the host family never opend the central heating! It was cooler than outside! No wonder they eat french fries, wafles, chocolate and drink beer all the time! Something has to warm them up...But let's not waste words on the bad things.
I loved the city architecture. Every house, shop, pub or whatever has at least two floors. And the houses are all tight up together,...it gives a very colorful, varied and acceptable look. Lovely! And they all have big windows in all sort of places:)...despite the warmth losing; I din't figure that one out yet.
I forgot how many types of beer they have, or how many glasses for each beer...mainly...a lot! So that's a place for beer lovers. But! Don't buy it downtown, rather find a poor-looking store ang grab few tins. Jupiler or whatever.
And...atomium is just a pile of metal balls, I wouldn't say is a sensation. I can't say it's not worth seeing, but don't bother if you don't have enough time, just skip it. (It's still 15 min or something to there -by metro- +3 min walk + 15min admiring. Alltogether an hour with the way back..). You can see it in any picture and it's just as nice as in person (:P).
The other monuments and places...well...I liked Notre dame de la Chapelle, Maneken Piss, Rue Neuve, Parc de Bruxelles...and that would be about it.
However...I would visit Bruxelles again, it has made an impression on me.
